Tim Shortall has worked internationally as a stage designer for both set and costume.
In London, he has designed for the National Theatre, The Donmar Warehouse, The Almeida Theatre, The Old Vic, Shakespeare’s Globe, The Royal Court, Hampstead Theatre and many productions in the West End.
Directors with whom Tim has collaborated regularly include Terry Johnson, Max Stafford Clark, Rupert Goold and David Grindley.
Tim has also designed for ballet and contemporary dance including works at Sadlers Wells Royal Ballet, Dutch National Ballet and Norwegian National Ballet, among others.
His work has been seen across the US, and he has designed several shows on Broadway, most notably La Cage aux Folles, for which he earned a Tony Award nomination for best scenic design of a musical.
